LOUTH COMMUNITY GAMES 2019

???? A massive well done to the kids of the Ardee/Reaghstown Area who competed at the Louth community games in the Lourdes Stadium in Drogheda on June 9th. Over 30 athletes from our community took part and they were simply wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

♦️ The games began with the national anthem followed by a reading in both English and Irish of the Community Games Constitution. This year, the honour was given to two athletes from our area, well done to Oran Lynch and Aoibheann Carolan.
♦️ Running in the U8 races were Rhona Keenan, Frank Sands, Finn McDonald & Patrick Callan with Finn & Patrick coming 2nd & 3rd respectively in the 60m.
♦️ Running in the U10 races were Aoibheann Smith, Helena Zuchini, Tess Anderson, Jack Duffy, Oran Lynch, TomJoe McCormack, Alex Callan, Kristupas Ruškys and Jokubas Ruškys with Jack, Aoibheann & Tess coming 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the hurdles, Alex 1st in the 100m and Oran 2nd in the 200m.
♦️ For the U12s we had Gabrielle Ruskyte, Ashling Gormley, Molly Keenan, Anna Jackson, Grace Gormley, Tom Maguire, Senan Lundon, Dylan McCarron, Charlie Sands, Arthur Sands and Shane Zuchini and hitting the podium in this age group were Dylan, Senan & Gabrielle, 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the 100m, Tom 1st in the 600m & Charlie 1st in the ball throw.
♦️ In the U14 events all our athletes hit the podium, Jack Dowdall & Grace Anderson came 1st & 2nd in the long jump, Emmet Smith and Jack McCarron came 2nd & 3rd in the 800m and Kya Mothiram came 1st in the shot put.
♦️ For our U16s we had two winners, Aoibheann Carolan in the 100m and Ruth Gillespie in the 200m.
♦️ And finishing the day were the relays with our U12 relay team of Arthur Sands, Senan Lundon, Tom Maguire and Dylan McCarron coming 1st.
???? Again a massive well done to everyone who competed, representing their communities and the best of luck to those who came 1st qualifying to represent their county at the National Community Games in August.
