June Bank Holiday 2018

June 3rd – A busy weekend for some of our athletes as they headed in every direction…..

Two of our Senior Athletes headed to Tullamore to compete in the Leinster Senior & Masters’ Championships, Darren Weldon had the Hammer and Michael Lundon ambitiously entered 4 individual events, the 110m Hurdles, 100m, 200m and 400m.  Daren took home the SILVER, well earned and Michael took home 2 GOLDS in the 100m and 110m Hurdles and 2 SILVERS in the 200m and 400m.  Fantastic results for both men.

Back up in Dublin 3 of our Senior Ladies ran in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon.  All three were delighted with their performances.  Michelle Lynch (52mins), Tracey McCarron (1:02mins) and Sarah Nic Lachainn (1:14).

Meanwhile up in Derry, Nathan Anderson completed the Derry City Marathon in a time of 3:10:53.  His smile says it all.

June 4th – On the bank holiday Monday 4 wee men headed to Tullamore for the very first time to compete in the U9 Leinster Juvenile ‘Team’ Championships.  Cian Lundon, Max O’Sullivan, Alex Callan and Oran Lynch.  All four competed so well, they may not have made it to the podium but they did themselves proud and the Club are extremely proud of them.
