June 24th – Congratulations to Charlie Sands who got the opportunity to compete at the Tailteann Games in Carlow representing the Leinster Schools Team in the 400m Hurdles and Javelin. Competing in the 400m Hurdles for the first time he came an amazing 4th place in a time of 1.01.03 and finished 9th in the Javelin, throwing a new PB of 38.61m. A fantastic opportunity for Charlie, well done and congratulations on a Team win for Leinster.
June 25th – And joining Charlie the next day was Kya Mothiram representing Louth at the Preliminary Round of the National League in Santry. A wonderful experience for them both. Kya finishing 3rd in the Discus and Charlie 4th in the Long Jump and with his Team Mates, 3rd in the 4x400m Relay and 5th in the 4x100m Relay. Well done to these young athletes and all those representing Athletics Louth and Congratulations to both the men and women’s teams who placed 3rd in this round.
