February 23rd – Well done to members Joanne Dillon and Roy Crawley on completing the Fitzers 5K in Dundalk this morning. Great times from them both with newcomer Roy finishing in 24:52 and Joanne excitedly obtaining a new PB of 27:35. To quote Joanne “when I joined the club last April I couldn’t run from the church in Ardee to the bottom of the town without having to stop and walk” It’s moments like this that make our club. Congratulations Joanne and Roy.
February 23rd – Spring is definitely in the air. Another PB achieved today as Dave Symmons ran an impressive 22:06 at the ParkRun in Oldbridge this morning. Well done Dave.
February 17th – While some of us were running in the beautiful setting of ‘The Battle of the Boyne’ in Oldbridge today, Barry Reid was off completing his 18th Marathon in a time of 3hrs/42mins in sunny Seville, Spain. What a start to 2019. Well done Barry.
February 9th – Two exceptional athletes from our Club brought home well deserved medals yesterday and both ladies should be very proud of themselves. Kya Mothiram won Gold in the U14 Shot Putt at the Leinster Indoor Championships in Athlone with a personal best throw of 10.82m and Bernie Balfe took home the Bronze at the Irish National 50K Championships in Kildare in a super impressive time of 4:20:56. A fantastic achievement for both our athletes. Congratulations from all at Ardee & District Athletic Club.
February 3rd – Smiling all the way and coming home with new personal bests at the Trim 10 Mile Road Race were Nathan Anderson 1:01:47, Kevin Carroll 1:15:30, David Tyhuis 1:20:29 and Dave Symmons 1:21:31. Well done gentlemen and thank you to Domhnall Lennon for the support and photographs.
