Ardee win Boyne AC’s much loved Killian Ekhator Memoiral Cup

On August 4th we had such fun today at Boyne AC’s Open Sports Day in the Lourdes Stadium. Representing our club today for the first time were Rian Lynch and Elena Cirdei. Our U8s were Frank Sands, Sean McCormack and Patrick Callan who all ran well in the 60m and 200m joining TomJoe McCormack in the U9 Relay coming home in 4th position. TomJoe also took the silver in the turbo javelin with Frank coming 3rd. In the U10 60m sprint Alex Callan came 3rd joining his club mates Oran Lynch, Daniel Cirdei and Jessica McCarron for the U11 Relay. Jessica had a fantastic time of it coming 2nd in the turbo javelin and 3rd in the U12 long jump. Competing well for the U12s were Caoimhe Carolan, Arthur Sands and Dylan McCarron who joined Charlie Sands and Jack Dowdall to win the U13 Relay and much loved Killian Ekhator Memorial Cup. Charlie went on to take the silver in the 100m sprint with Jack taking the gold to add to his gold in the 600m. Newcomer Isabelle Callan was fantastic coming 5th in the U13 100m, Jack McCarron, 4th in the U14 600m and javelin and Kya Mothiram taking the silver for the girls U14 javelin. Hallie Sands and Orlaith Carolan were running well too with Orlaith taking the bronze in the U15 100m and both girls teaming up with Ace AC’s athletes Saran and Amelia to take the gold in the U15 Relay. Samantha McCarron, Eireann Hoey and Rebecca McCarron displayed some wonderful throws in the U16 javelin. Throwing and running well was Aoibheann Carolan who came 4th in the U18 javelin and 1st in the U17 100m with Abbie Sheridan following her to the podium to take the gold in the 600m and silver in the 100m. We had a wonderful time, the weather couldn’t be better and thank you to Boyne AC, as always a fun day and of course the Lourdes Stadium, kept so well for us all to enjoy.
