What glorious weather we had for our first Open Sports Day in two years (August 7th). A huge thank you to all the volunteers who prepared the grounds for this event, the field looked splendid in the sunshine. Thank you too to Last Lap Cafe for keeping us fed and watered.
Juveniles from Clubs near and far competed and we thank you all for your support, well done everyone and we congratulate you all on your successes.
Congratulations too to our own members, to our sprinters; Aisling Musiime 1st in the U8 60m, Fraya Durnin and Barnett Musiime both taking 2nd in girls and boys U9 60m and Aaron Durnin coming away with the bronze in the U10 80m. For the 100m sprints, Max O’Sullivan took 3rd in the U13s, Liam McMahon 2nd in the U14s, Gabriele Ruskyte 3rd in the U16s and Charlie Sands and Luke McKenny came 1st and 2nd in the Boys U17 100m. For our distance runs we had more success with Aisling Musiime coming 1st in the U8 200m followed by Sadie Durnin in 3rd place. Fraya Durnin came 3rd in the U9 200m and Frank Sands also 3rd in the U10 200m. Kristupas Ruskys took 2nd in the U12 600m and Max O’Sullivan took 3rd place in the U13 600m with Charlie Sands coming 1st in the U16 800m. Out in the field we had more successes jumping and throwing our way to the podium. Well done to Freya Durnin coming 2nd in the U9 Long Jump, Frank Sands 3rd in the U11s, TomJoe McCormac 2nd in the U13s and Charlie Sands also 2nd in the U17s and throwing success for the club went to Evelyn Thornton who came 3rd in the Girls’ U10 Turbo Javelin and Frank Sands 2nd in the Boys’ U10s. Well done Everyone.
