August 2nd – Beginning the Bank Holiday Weekend a few of our members headed to the beautiful village of Carlingford and thoroughly enjoyed themselves at Glenmore AC’s Michael Fearon & Kevin Marron Carlingford 5k. Before the main race the kids took to the roads. Well done to Oran Lynch who finished in the top 10 medal positions in the U11 500m and Molly Keenan in the U13 750m. Then it was the turn of the adults, all finishing with fantastic times. Well done to Barry Weldon 19:28, Conor Lynch 22:10, Roy Crawley 22:55, Annemarie Dillon 24:06, Ciara Cousins 25:12, Allison Duffy 28:06, Joanne Dillon 29:10 and Teresa Durnin 34:11.

August 3rd – How far would you go to find a Parkrun! Leo Farrell attending his 112th parkrun in Munich, Germany. Good on ya Leo, an inspiration as always.
August 10th – In the pouring rain Paul Barns ran the Streets of Galway 8K in a fantastic time of 34:03. Well done Paul.

August 11th – We had 3 members competing in the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon. Shane Carroll finished in 1:28:36 obtaining a new PB closely followed by David Tyhuis 1:52:14 and Ronan O’Sullivan, returning from an injury 12 weeks ago came home in 2:03:54. Also, in Dublin today we had newcomers Lisa Neacy and Kate Powell thoroughly enjoying the Rock n’ Roll 10K and what a time of it they had, a first 10K for both these ladies, Lisa home in 1:19:29 and Kate in 1:16:01, a fantastic achievement for them both. Well done to all our members competing at the Rock n’ Roll Series.

August 16th – It was all smiles and lots of fun meeting many friends at Rathkenny Athletic Club’s 5K Road Race this evening… and wonderful running too. Well done to club members, David Tyhuis 23:07, Peter Carolan 23:34, Annemarie Dillon 24:28, Allison Duffy 28:52 and Teresa Durnin 33:37.

August 17th – Well done to Leo Farrell who came 17th overall (1:37:02) in the Dambusters Half Marathon in the beautiful Silent Valley in the Mourne Mountains, Co. Down. Always an inspiration, good on ya Leo.

August 18th – Well done to Brian Duff who obtained a new PB (1:16:30) at the Kilcock 10 Mile Road Race. Fantastic running Brian.

August 24th – A big well done to Danny Cirdei 1:09:36, Aiden Dunne 1:27:17, Michelle Lynch 1:28:22, Belinda Rogers 1:28:33, David Tyhuis 1:28:42, Conor Lynch 1:34:02 and Ciara Cousins 1:35:55 who all had a fun time at the Frank Duffy 10 Miler in the Phoenix Park.

Aug 29th – Father & son, Conor & Oran Lynch headed to Tara AC’s 5K & Family 3K in Co. Meath. Both Lynch’s coming home in impressive time, Connor 22:21 in the 5K and Oran completing the 3K in 13:06.

Aug 30th – Paul Barnes, Bernie Balfe, Danny Cirdei, and Brian Duff headed to Co. Offaly to run Tullamore Harriers’ Quinlan Cup Half Marathon. All four had a super time, Paul 1:36:26, Bernie 1:39:98, Danny 1:43:15 and a new PB of 1:44:38 for Brian.
