May 25th – Congratulations to Emma Boyle who competed in the U17 Pentathlon (Shot Put, 100mH, High Jump, Long Jump, 800m) at the Leinster Combined Events on Sunday, May 25th in Carlow. Capping off a great day of competition running, jumping and throwing her way to the podium and taking home the Bronze Medal. A fantastic achievement. Well done Emma.
June 1st – Club member Aisling Musimme was selected to represent Louth in the Leinster Inter-County Relay Championships. Aisling along with her county team mates took Silver in the U11 4×100 Relays. Well done Aisling.
June 14th & 15th – Our athletes headed to Tullamore for the Leinster Championship. A great experience for them all. Emma Boyle came 2nd in the U17 100m Hurdles, and competed really well in the High Jump. Double bronze for Charlotte O’Shea in the U18 Discuss and followed that up with a great throw of 6.32m in the Shot Put. Alex McFadden struck gold with his Louth team mates in the boys U17 100m Relay. It was then Silver for Oscar McArdle in the U15 Javelin, who is throwing really well and not to be outdone, Aoife Pentony secured an excellent silver in the U17 Javelin also. So all in all, a brilliant haul of medals. Well done to the athletes, coaches and parents.
