Comhghairdeas! to all of our young athletes who competed at the Louth Juvenile Championships that were held over 3 days at the Bush Track in Dundalk and Lourdes Stadium in Drogheda. Congratulations to Aisling Musiime, Emily Carroll, Tom Fay, Lucy Whelan, Rhona Keenan, Liam Boyle, Oscar McArdle Murphy, Alex McFadden, Max O’Sullivan, Aoife Pentony, Emma Boyle and Charlotte O’Shea.
Day 1 (May 10th) brought lots of medals from our multi-event athlete Emma Boyle. She won silver in the U17 hurdles, a PB and bronze in the Shotput and bronze in the High jump. Oscar McArdle Murphy threw an impressive PB of 38.78m achieving gold in the U15 Javelin. Charlotte O’ Shea took silver in the U18 Shotput with an impressive throw of 6.55m. Aoife Pentony had a great performance taking silver in the U17 Javelin and thank you to our coach Michael Pentony for volunteering at the event.
On Day 2 (May 18th) bhí an ghrian ag spalpadh anuas. Well done to Tom Fay who ran his first ever competition in the U12 600m. There was a super effort from Rhona Keenan U14, Emily Carroll U11 and Lucy Whelan U13 who all really enjoyed competing in the glorious sunshine. Aisling Musiime had a smashing day winning her U11 sprint and distance races. Alex McFadden ran an impressive sprint winning him the U16 100m. Max O’Sullivan took silver in the U16 800m under the hot sun. Liam Boyle had a super day of events including taking home the bronze in the U14 sprint and thank you to Ciara Boyle and Bernie Balfe who volunteered at the event.
And on Day 3 (May 22nd) finishing the 2025 Louth Juvenile Tack & Field Championships two of our finest relay teams took to the podium. Congratulations to the U12 Girls on winning gold and our U16 Boys Team in coming away with the silver.
