The sun came out and while some of our members went on holidays or prepared for the Dublin City Marathon others enjoyed some running over the summer months of July and August…
July 10th – 
Vincent McQuillan, Jack McCarron, Emma Wiebenga, Joan McQuillan, Regina McElroy and Allen Duff thoroughly enjoyed Dunleer AC’s 4 Mile Road Race with Vincent taking the 2nd place prize in the men’s O50 category, Joan taking 3rd in the Ladies’ O50, Emma 3rd in the O40s and Jack 2nd place in the Junior Male category. Well done Guys 
July 14th – 
A huge turnout on the first night of our Couch to 5K…

July 16th – Ennjoying our two local Parkruns (a fantastic facility open to all in our community) were Emma McElroy, Regina McElroy, Tracey Gillespie, Emma Wiebenga, Joan McQuillan and Amanda McElroy @ the Dundalk Parkrun and Ben Corcoran, Daniel Cirdei and Danny Cirdei @ the Oldbridge Parkrun. Well done Lads & Lassies
July 17th – As temperatures continue to rise Paddy Meade, Bernie O’Mahony, Allen Duff, Aidan Mooney, Gerry Clinton, Frank Meade, Emma McElroy, Amanda McElroy, Sarah Duff, Karen Taaffe, Kate Moonan, David Tyhuis, Roy Crawley and Daniel Cirdei all completed the Irish Life Fingal 10K… What a challenge in the heat. Well done to you All
July 17th Congratulations to Kya Mothiram who proudly represented Ireland for the first time at the SIAB SchoolsTrack & Field International in Mary Peter’s Park in Belfast yesterday. Kya was one of 70 athletes wearing our country’s colours and came away with a new PB of 31m in the Discuss. Well done Kya, what an experience
July 30th – The Ruskys and Musiime families enjoy lots of sprinting at the Setanta Game. Kristupas Ruskys took bronze in the 100m with his brother and sister, Jokubas and Gabriele just missed out on a medal coming 4th in their sprints. Aisling and Barnet had more success with both taking gold in their 60m sprints.
August 5th – What a beautiful evening in Carlingford and thank you to Glenmore AC for their hospitality. Well done to our Juveniles, Gerard Thornton, Tess Maguire, Frank Sands, Lily Maguire and Liam McMahon who ran the Juvenile Road Races. All ran their hearts out with Liam taking home a 7th place medal. And super running from Frank Meade and Charlie Sands who finished in 18:19 and 20:01 respectively. Well done lads #ArdeeHey
August 8th – Congratulations to Brian Duff who completed the Monaghan 10 Miler in the glorious sunshine. Well done Brian
August 12th – On a hot Friday evening Emma, Joan & Vincent popped over to Kells enjoying the Kells Heritage 5k Run, perhaps setting new times in preparation for Seamie’s 5K!, while David, Ben, Frank & Danny enjoyed a coastal 11k followed by a much welcomed dip in the sea at Salterstown. Well done Guys.
August 13th – Bright and early, Michael headed into the mountains challenging himself on a run and enjoying the beautiful scenery from the Lumpers to Carlingford and back again while Ben, Amanda & Danny enjoyed the historic Oldbridge 5k Parkrun. And later in the afternoon the McElroy, Cirdei and Clinton families had a blast at the Bubbly Colour Run in Fairyhouse.Well done eveveryone. 
A huge Congratulations to the amazing Liam Giggins who completed the IRONMAN Ireland/Cork in Youghal at the weekend. WOW… Liam finished in 42nd place out of 1,055 competitors; 11th in his category M30-34yrs. A super result from this Ardee man. Good on ya Liam #Ardeehey
August 19th – A fantastic turnout from our Club at the Rathkenny AC 5K with 3 of our members taking top prizes and some PBs too… Well done to Aiden Mooney, Vincent McQuillan, Joan McQuillan, Alice Turley, Dave Symmons, David Tyhuis, Danny Cirdei, Tracey Gillespie, Roy Crawley, Emma Wiebenga, Theresa Ludden, Orlaith Carolan and Peter Carolan. And Congratulations to Danny, 1st male over 40, Vincent, 2nd male over 50, Orlaith, 1st Junior female and PBs for Tracey and Emma finishing in under 25 minutes.

August 20th – WOW, This man just loves a challenge… Early on a Sunday morning Michael Pentony took to the Wicklow mountains running 50.07km, 1,658m elevation (almost 5,500ft) in 6 hours. WHY, one may ask… because he’s preparing for the Ecotrail Wicklow 80K on September 24th … so he popped down to Wicklow to checkout the terrain .
August 27th – We had fun relaxed time in the sun at Boyne AC’s Open Sports Day. Well done to all the boys and girls who competed, U8s Penny Dardis and Aisling Musiime, U9s Elise Dardis and Barnet Musiime, U10s Tess Maguire and Frank Sands, U11s Ava Hickey, U14s Emma Boyle, U15s Caoimhe Carolan and U16s Charlie Sands. And thank you Boyne Ac a super organised event as always.
