From Vikings to Gingerbread and a jaunt or two stateside our seniors were busy…
November 17th – Early on Saturday morning ten of Fhirdhia’s warriors headed to Annagassan to battle it out with the best of them at this year’s Annagassan Viking Coastal 10k. All ten returned triumphant, a super course, fantastic atmosphere and a superbly run event. Well done Nathan Anderson 37:15 PB (7th/1st over 40), Michael Lundon 44:06, Kevin Carroll 44:53, Ben Corcoran 46:33 PB, David Tyhuis 49:12 PB, Brian Duff 50:08 PB, AnneMarie Dillon 51:47 PB, Derek Gillespie 51:47, Roisin Whyte 52:59 PB and Sarah Nic Lochlainn 54:23 PB.

November 17th – Later in the day, state time, our seasoned veteran, Leo Farrell ran an impressive 20:55 in the Janney 5K in Washington D.C, finishing 10th overall and 2nd in the over 50 category. Well done Leo, flying the Ardee flag stateside.
November 18th – The weekend ended with another ten of Fhirdhia’s soilders heading early in the morning to a tough and challenging Gingerbread Run in Portarlington… ‘Run, run as fast as you can…’ and they did. We saw some impressive running from our 10k runners Peter Carolan 49:15, Michelle Lynch 51:21, Joanne Dillon 1:00:04, Alison Duffy 1:09:34 and Teresa Durnin 1:09:50 and new personal bests achieved from our half marathon runners, Ronan O’Sullivan 1:33:27 PB, Bernie Balfe 1:45:30, Liam Smith 1:51:04 PB, Dave Symmons 1:52:16 PB and Domhnall Lennon 2:09:47.

November 18th – Meanwhile up in Northern Ireland Paul Barns ran a blinder coming 3rd in the Kirkistown 10k race in the beautiful village of Kircubbin, Co. Down.
???????? THANKSGIVING TIME IN THE USA ????????
November 22nd – Braving the cold weather and still flying the Ardee flag stateside Leo Farrell enjoyed the Thanksgiving celebrations in America at the Annual 10k Turkey Chase in Bethesda, Maryland. Leo ran an impressive 41:40 coming 4th in the over 40 category. Well done Leo, safe journey home.
