Our COUCH to 5K Group…
Leading up to Seamie’s Races we began on July 1st with our C25K programme. This was held every Monday and Wednesday at the Fairgreen in Ardee where many people of all abilities enjoyed two days of running a week, some learning to run, some returning to running and all enjoying a couple of hours a week of exercise and fun; coached by members of our club who were once C25K beginners themselves. Midway through the programme, on July 31st, we had a special social night where our club members joined them for an introduction to road running followed by a slice of pizza and a chat. Then, on August 31st our adult members joined our C25K group once again for a trial run around our Seamie Weldon Memorial 5K course route a couple of days after our club extended an open invitation to the public for a trail run around both our the 5K and 10K course routes – The response, support and encouragement from our members, the C25K group and members of the public was inspiring…
Our C25K training social night – July 31st (more pictures can be found on our news report 👉 News & Results/August Runs)…

Our C25K trial run – August 31st…
SPONSORSHIP & SUPPORT…
Also in July, we began looking for Sponsorship, it wasn’t hard, the community of businesses and traders in Ardee and the surrounding areas are the best, simply incredible and like last year with the support and generosity of Wheels and Heels donating this fab new bicycle we held a ‘Sponsors’ Raffle‘ which was won by RHMcD – Richard H. McDonnell Solicitors, Ardee (Presentation photo to follow soon).
AND THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all our Sponsors and the Services that support us…
And meet our four main sponsors…
VOLUNTEERS…
BUT WITHOUT QUESTION, we couldn’t run our races without the tremendous support from our Volunteers; members of our club, parents of our juveniles and their families and friends and our Race Committee – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. And thanks too to the Order of Malta, keeping us safe and Ardee Community School for the use of their beautifully kept facilities and the community of families along our course routes for their patience and support.
