Conor McMahon took his final trip of the season to the Tullamore Harriers stadium, where he represented Ardee & District A.C. at the Glo health National track and field championships.
In the morning among the top athletes the country has to offer, Conor made his way to the u16 high jump event. Here he cleared the bar at all heights right up to match his personal best of 1.70m. With the final three athletes clearing the next height of 1.75m, Conor had to settle for 4th place just outside the medals.
In the afternoon Conor was back jumping this time in the u16 long jump. The forecast strong winds faced the young men as they made their run up into the pit. Showing tremendous grit and determination Conor’s best attempt of 5.49m left him again in a place outside of the medals.
Ardee & District A.C. wish continued success to our athletes in the remaining track and field season
