Sunday was the final day of the championships and Conor McMahon and Niamh Tenanty took the trip back to the midlands to the AIT indoor stadium.
Conor was out in the u16 high jump. Going into this event as the outdoor Leinster champion conor was among the favourites to take the indoor title. Having a great sequence of jumps there were only 4 left in the competition at a height of 1.60m. The bar moved up 5cm to a height of 1.65m and Conor being the only one to clear this height was deemed the Leinster u16 indoor high jump champion and awarded the gold medal for his efforts.
Out in the centre of the track Niamh Tenanty was warming up for the u16 60m. Niamh ran a super heat with a new 60m pb of 8.09sec securing her a place in the finals later in the day. A very exciting finish awaited the crowd watching as the line divided the winners. Niamh had a 30min wait to learn that she finished in second place with another pb of 8.01 sec earning her the silver medal.
