Ardee & District AC had an eventful weekend on May 25th and 26gth which began with our senior Michael Lundon competing at the Leinster Combined Events in Greystones. Michael competed in the Masters’ Pentathlon and after 4 events was trailing in 5th place but in his last event of the day, the 1500m he ran such an impressive race, gained valuable points jumping 3 places to take home the Silver.
The following morning, bright and early 3 of our juvenile teams headed to Leixlip to compete in the Leinster Inter-Club Relays. Our U12s, Senan Lundon, Arthur Sands, Dylan McCarron and Tom Maguire qualified from the heats to earn a place in the final just missing out on the medals and competing for the first time at this event were our U10s, Alex Callan, TomJoe McCormack, Daniel Cirdei and Oran Lynch who ran their hearts out and creating the most excitement of the day were our U9s, Harry Breen, Kristupas Ruškys, Jokubas Ruškys and TomJoe McCormack who took the Silver in an exciting photo finish final. Well done everyone.
