May 9th – Day One of the Louth Championships were an exciting success for Ardee & District Athletic Club as seven teams competed in the Relays and all seven made the podium. First up for the club were the U9 Boys, TomJoe McCormack, Kristupas Ruskys, Jokubas Ruskys and Harry Breen who stormed home to take the Gold. Next to compete were the U13 Boys, Charlie Sands, Tom Maguire, Dylan McCarron and Jack Dowdall who created massive excitement in the race of the night, dropping the batton at the first handover but clawing back from 4th position to taking on the challenge for 1st place right up to the finish line and proudly took home the silver. The U15 Girls took to the track next which saw Ava McNally, Ruth Gillespie, Orlaith Carolan and Hallie Sands battle it out to hold the Silver and they were soon joined on the podium by the U17 Girls, Isobelle Delaney, Emma Gillespie, Eireann Hoey and Aoibheann Carolan who comfortably took home the bronze. Waiting patiently through the rain of the early eventing the U10 Boys, Alex Callan, Max O’Sullivan, Daniel Cirdei and Oran Lynch ran impressively to come away with 3rd place and they were soon followed onto the bronze position on the podium by the U12 Boys, Leannan Murphy, Tom Maguire, Arthur Sands and Senan Lundon. Last up for the club on the night were the U14 Boys, Conall Halpenny, Jack McCarron, Joe Murphy & Jack Dowdall who fought it out till the end to take the silver.
