WELCOME TO ARDEE & DISTRICT ATHLETIC CLUB

All ages and all abilities are very welcome

From 7 years of age all year round (or 6 turning 7 before December 31st this year)
5 & 6 years of age join us from March/April to August (or on their 5th birthday during this time)

Our Adults and Juveniles train for an hour twice a week all year round so get in contact if you would like to join them…

JUVENILE TRAINING :-

  • Juvenile training is twice a week all year round.  We introduce, train, prepare and enter our juveniles into Louth, Leinster & National Championships and other competitions held throughout the year in both Cross Country and Track & Field (indoors & outdoors) – We take a break for Christmas and before our annual Seamie Weldon Memorial 5K & 10K (held on the first Saturday every September).
  • from March/April to October @ the parish field known as ‘The School Field’, Drogheda Road, Ardee (opposite The Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, A92 APV4 ) from 5 years of age and up or on their 5th birthday.
  • from October to March/April @ Ardee St. Mary’s GFC, Pairc Mhuire, Drogheda Road, Blakestown, Ardee, A92 K226, (opposite & above Lidl) for 7 year olds up (or 6 year olds turning 7 before the 31st of December this year). 

ADULT TRAINING (18 years +) :-

  • Our Adults meet at the same time and place as our juveniles heading off in many directions around Ardee to complete 5Ks, 7Ks 10Ks and longer distance training sessions in preparation for Cross Country and Road Races.
  • Once a member you will be added to our club’s adult WhatsApp group where other training sessions including long distance runs, speed sessions, parkruns and Saturday or Sunday fun runs are organised for other times throughout the week and weekends. 
  • All abilities welcome, from beginners looking to simply enjoy a run, or if you are coming from a ‘Couch 2 5K’, to those wishing to improve their speed and distance in Cross Country, 5Ks, 10Ks, a 10Miler or take on the challenge of a Half or Full marathon for the first time.  You can also be introduced to Track & Field disciplines; Sprints, Long Jump, Shot Put, Javelin, Hurdles, etc.
