WELCOME TO 2026 – And they’re off again, running from the 1st…

JANUARY 1st – What a way to start the New Year! Thanks to Deepark parkun Carlanstown for their New Year’s Day special event…

 

 

JANUARY 3rd/4th – An early start for Bernie, Ronan, AnneMarie, Yvonne, Kate and Barry as they headed off bright and early on a brisk and cold winter’s morning to run 18K via the Hills of Hacklin and the following day David, Louise, Paddy and Bernie enjoyed warmer weather in Spain competing at the San Fulgencio 5K.  And of course, there was a trip to one of our local parkruns this weekend meeting up with many running buddies in Deerpark Carlanstown…

 

 

JANUARY 10th/11th – Congratuions to Bernie Balfe, David Tyhuis and Danny Cirdei wo took on the Donadea World Half Marathon.  While it was a cold day and the course was slippy in places all three had great runs on this lovely course.  And a special shout out to Danny who finished in 3rd place overall, an outstanding result…

 

 

 

JANUARY 17th/18th – On Saturday, Theresa, Ian, Tracey, Benny, Conor, Dave, Roy and Aidan thoroughly enjoyed The Valley Inn 5K in aid of Ardee & District Cancer Support and on Sunday a couple of photos of our members out enjoying a 10K training run in Dundalk….

 

 

JANUARY 24th/25th – Another wintery weekend, wet, windy and cold and while many of our members on the Saturday morning were enjoying long training runs around Ardee (leaving early from SuperValu) some headed to parkruns in Virgina, Newry and Tullamore.  Also on the Saturday morning, our Chairperson Karen Taaffe joined Santurary Runners in Ardee for a solidarity and welcoming run.  And finishing off the weekend, Helen Symmons joined 5000 others to run the AXA Raheny 5 Miler in Dublin on the 25th.  Lovely running folks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

JANUARY 31st – Finishing the month of January and enjoying our local parkruns, we had Tony in Oldbridge and Dave, Aidan, Roy, Emma, Joan and Vincent in Deerpark.
