Before our country took the necessary steps to combat Covid-19 our Seniors enjoyed a Half Marathon weekend on March 7th and 8th…
Congratulations to Amanda McElroy, Regina McElroy, Deirdre McEneaney, Kevin Carroll, Gary Dunne, Danny Cirdei and Brian Duff who enjoyed the beautiful scenery under blue skys at the Carlingford Half Marathon & 10k on Saturday morning. All seven ran the Half Marathon but it was in particular a special race for Amanda and Regina as they completed their first ever Half Marathon.
Meanwhile, over on the west coast newcomer, Aisling Gillan amongst family and friends enjoyed her first ever half marathon at the Kinvara Rock & Road in Co. Galway.
And this morning, a little closer to home Bernie Balfe and Ronan O’Sullivan braved hail, rain and sunshine to complete Bohermeen AC’s Meath Spring Half Marathon.

While our Seniors were running the roads this weekend, Juvenile, Kya Mothiram was throwing it all at Templemore Athletic Club’s Paul Ryan Memorial Games on Saturday. Kya hit the podium twice taking the silver in both the U14 Shot Put and Javelin and coming an amazing 4th place in her new discipline, the Discuss. Well done Kya, fantastic throwing as always.
