National Track & Field Championships 2019

Ardee & District AC had wonderful success at this years National Juvenile Track & Field Championships.  It was a massive achievement to reach the Nationals and all our athletes gave their best, enjoyed every minute and we are so proud of them all.

On Day 1, June 29th in Tullamore Jack Dowdall, Harry Breen, Jokubas Ruškys, TomJoe McCormack and Kristupas Ruškys had a fantastic competition.  While Jack just missed out in the final of the U13 80m sprint he came a fantastic 8th place jumping 4.06m in the Long Jump. Harry and Jokubas came a tantalising but amazing 4th place in the Paris U9 Turbo Javelin and joined by TomJoe and Kristupas they were a proud 5th in the U9 Inter-Club Relays.

On Days 2 & 3, June 13th & 14th also in Tullamore both Kya Mothiram and Abbie Sheridan hit the podium.  In the field it was Double Gold for Kya throwing a personal best of 23.74m in the U14 Discuss (0.75kg) and 11.8m in the U14 Shot Putt (2kg) and over on the track running 10:30:03 minutes in the U18 3000m Abbie proudly took home the Silver. What an amazing achievement for both these young athletes, so well deserved.
