A NEW YEAR & THE FUN HAS BEGUN FOR OUR SENIORS…

???????? DOMHNALL’S DOPEY CHALLENGE…! ????????

January 9th to- 13th – Always smiling, the jolliest runner in Team Ardee headed across the Atlantic to the wonderful world of Walt Disney in Orlando, Domhnall in the company of good friends set out to complete the ‘Dopey Challenge’ competing in 4 races in 4 consecutive days at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Domhnall thoroughly enjoyed himself and joined in in the humorous and fun fill atmosphere that Disney World has to offer.  Full of humour and wearing a smile Domhnall ran an impressive 32:26 at the Walt Disney 5K on Day 1. Day 2 saw Domhnall in high spirits finish the Walt Disney 10k in a time of 55:15 increasing his pace from 10 minutes to 8:45 minutes per mile. On Day 3, looking comfortable and still smiling Domhnall completed the Half Marathon in an impressive time of 2:15:28 and finishing the Walt Disney Ultimate Challenge saw Domhnall on Day 4 complete the Walt Disney Marathon in a time of 5:04:41.  Well done Domhnall, we followed your progress over the four days, very exciting. That’s another one to proudly cross off the Bucket List.

January 12th – Well done to Ronan O’Sullivan, all smiles as he completed the World Half Marathon Festival in a time of 1 hour & 35 minutes at Donadea Forest Park in Co. Kildare this morning. Good man Ronan.

January 13th – Well done to Bernie Balfe who ran the Donadea Half in a time of 1:45:37 at the World Half Marathon Festival in Donadea Forest Park, Co. Kildare.  Bernie found it tough running on the gravel but thoroughly enjoyed herself at this well organised event.  Gravel or none, what an impressive time Bernie, well done.

January 27th – A massive well done to Shane McConnon and Dave Symmons who ran the AXA Raheny 5 Mile Road Race today. This is newcomer Shane’s first run for the club 54:58 and a new personal best for Dave 37:58. Congratulations to both gentlemen, we hope to see more of them in the future.
