❤️ FABULOUS FEBRUARY for our JUVENILES & SENIORS alike…

Fabulous February for many of our athletes…

February 1st & 2nd – Competing at the Leinster Juvenile Indoor Championships in Athlone this weekend three of our athletes gave it their all. A massive well done to Kya Mothiram coming 1st with a throw of 11.42m in the u13 shot put, Aoibheann Carolan coming 5th in a very fast, very close u18 60m final and Abbie Sheridan taking home the gold in the u19 1500m and the silver in the 800m.

And over in Trim on the 2nd, four of our Seniors thoroughly enjoyed the Trim 10 Mile Road Race with each of them obtaining a new personal best. Well done to Conor Lynch 1:15:44, David Tyhuis 1:18:17, Belinda Rogers 1:25:23 and Michelle Lynch 1:25:48.

Well done Everyone, fantastic results, proud days.

February 8th Before Storm Ciara arrived the amazing Bernie Balfe completed the Irish National 50K at Donadea Forest Park in 4:29:14.  Well done Bernie what an inspirational run, our club are proud of your achievement.

February 16th – What a day! Huge Congratulations to our Juveniles who braved the windy conditions following Storm Dennis in the beautiful setting of Bellurgan Park at Glenmore AC’s Juvenile Cross Country Event.

All were simply fantastic. Running in the U9s 500m were Grace Noone and Sean McCormack, both held their own coming 11th just missing out on the medals. Up next was the U11s 800m and we had Caoimhe McCourt, Shane Noone, Oran Lynch, TomJoe McCormack & Alex Callan. All ran their hearts out in a tough field but Shane Noone pushed hard to take the 8th place medal. The weather turned nasty for a spell as the U15s took to the course. Running 2000m and up an age in the bitter cold rain Charlie Sands sprinted home to take a 9th place medal. And saving the best till last as the sun appeared again was Abbie Sheridan who triumphantly came first in the U19 4000m.

Well done to these wonderful young athletes on the last cross country event of the season and Thank You to Glenmore AC on a well run friendly event and fantastic new location.

February 22nd – Congratulations to our members who ran the Fitzers 5k in Dundalk.  Despite the windy conditions the rain held off and our cheery seven came home smiling and pretty satisfied with themselves.  A big well done to Tracey Gillespie, Emma MeElroy, Joan McQuillan, Pauline Breslin, Sarah Duff, Elaine Kearney and newcomer Alan Duff.  Good running folks.

February 23rd – More running from our members this weekend… Congratulations to Ronan O’Sullivan, Duane Crosbie, Roisin Whyte, Caroline Levins, Aidan Dunne and Kathryn Moonan who thoroughly enjoyed the Clogherhead Seaside 5k. It was fresh and windy on this hilly course but the sun shone brightly in blue skys for a change. Well done to you all. Photographs from the Clogherhead Seaside 5k facebook page…
